This reel is perfect for a 2 wt. rod. I use it on my Sage 279-2LL. You can't find a better match for this rod. Pawl drag is perfect for this set up. Had this reel for 7 years now with no problem. It can handle large fish in current. Hard anodized finish looks great. It is so small you can fit it almost anywhere. Great for those times in the back country when your trying to save weight. I like to use it when fishing in high mountain lakes and streams.
