I love this Sage TCX rod. It is Sage’s economy rod, and it casts great. I have it as a back-up rod, and every time i fish it i think that i need to fish it even more. I don’t think that this rod is outstanding in any single category, but it really does everything…

This reel is perfect for a 2 wt. rod. I use it on my Sage 279-2LL. You can’t find a better match for this rod. Pawl drag is perfect for this set up. Had this reel for 7 years now with no problem. It can handle large fish in current. Hard anodized finish looks great….

If Abel Makes it and I need it, I buy it. I own 10Abel reels and over 7 spare spools including their new Super 2 which fits great on my Abel .5s. I just purchased an Abel TR Light for my three year old Grandson. Their is no reason for him to start fishing with…

This is a great dry fly rod, and a great small nymph rod as well. There is something about the Winston action that is difficult to describe, though the Scott G-series gets in the ballpark for this sort of rod. Scott is one of the kings of medium-action flyfishing rods. I use it (9′ft. 2 piece) to present flies to one of the harder fish to catch…..large wary goldens easily spooked in crystal clear water…and it is a joy to fish with the Scott. It also makes catching the smaller fish a bit more fun…

I purchased this rod for bluegill and small stream trout fishing and it has worked great for those purposes. I can throw tiny flies very softly, yet this rod still has enough guts to throw bluegill poppers. It is without a doubt the most comfortable rod that I have. The smaller grip on this rod…

While both the tip-flex (Orvis index 9.5) and mid-flex (Orvis index 6.5) are excellent rods, the action of the new mid-flex model is much more forgiving and will be preferred by most casters. I have been fishing with my 690 RPL+ for about three years now. I purchased the blank from the local distributor for about $195 and built the rod using a downlocking reel seat with cocobolo insert. I used black single foot guides wrapped with light brown thread and highlighted with three wraps of gold tinsel…

Though slightly less crisp than the RPL+, it has a soulful feel in casting. Handles 5 or 6 wt line well. Can kick out lots of line when the situation demands. This is my favorite all multi-purpose trout rod, though this rod performed fine with a decent sized, belligerent smallmouth that surprised me one afternoon….
